BIO.Santiago Sepúlveda is a photographer and designer from Bogotá, Colombia, whose work moves from portrait, photojournalism, art direction, and fashion photography to graphic and information design. His interest in biology and more recently physics keeps his personal work on permanent exploration on natural phenomena, while constantly working in social themes in Colombia, from illegal gold mining, environmental destruction and food security to displaced communities.
Studied Design at University of Los Andes in Bogotá, and made an option on photography; is currently working on personal projects in New York while studying documentary photography at the School of Visual Arts. |
INTERESTS.All of my work is an exploration, and unfinished stage and an endless game on curiosity and hunting. Travel is my way of growing and learning, giving to myself the gift of perspective. I intend to be an artist, a designer, a scientist, a library rat, an adventurer, a cyclist, an animal and nothing, all at the same time while taking photographs of my journey through life.
I'm interested in biology and physics, history and philosophy, love and loneliness, music and contemplation, birds and streets... I work hard on happiness and bliss, and I'm an expert in exploring silence and darkness, and that's what I hope my photos show: the paradox of my life and of those who I photograph, in their daily life, in their works and their projects, in their every moment. · · · If you are interested on working on some idea or buying prints, or just leaving your comments, words or inquiries, please contact me.
